The Lookout is a small studio flat ideal for 2 people who intend to mainly eat out in the many restaurants in Torquay. Of which there is a huge choice. It could possibly do with updating, but it is perfectly adequate for the price. The view is absolutely wonderful, the binoculars on the window sill being used daily. Having it's own parking position in a secluded car park is ideal, even if the walk down is a bit testing, taxis are readily available to come back up. Our second visit and we will quite possibly be back again..Blue rRver cottages service is friendly and on the ball.Mr Ian Dickens - 12th September 2019
Just a perfect place for me and my partner. Blue river cottages is a great company/website. And we just loved staying in the "Lookout". Ms Angela Christie - 3rd January 2019
We had a lovely time at The Lookout!Mrs Sylwia Frankowska-Takhari - 16th April 2018
We have stayed at The Lookout a number of times. The location is great (if you don't mind hills) however, the view from the apartment is breath taking. I have booked with Blueriver/SWCottages on a numerous occasions and have always received great service. They are my preferred option when looking for holiday accommodation in Devon.Mr Andrew McGrath - 17th November 2017
This studio apartment cannot be beaten for its location and stunning view of Torbay. The accommodation is very comfortable and is a great base for a stay in Torquay.A previous customer - 28th November 2016
The property exceeded our expectations was comfortable and clean, with reasonable facilities for a good stay. May be cold in wintertime.A previous customer - 30th October 2016
Lovely cosy apartment with the most amazing view!! We were instantly amazed as soon as we walked in. Amazing to wake up that view every morning, the bed is perfectly located. The whole apartment has everything you need in one big room, it was very clean when we arrived. Short walking distance to the town/sea front and an allocated parking space which made the stay even better. I would definitely stay here again, short or longer stay. Recommended this to family & friends as it is just perfect!A previous customer - 9th September 2016
it is pretty studio flat . ?t is managable location .close to shoppping area,if you like walking it is ideal. if you chose this flat you should be careful about the adress....you should get right information from agency,A previous customer - 15th April 2016
We always enjoy the view and seem to sleep well in this residential block. (thankfully since our last visit the resident who plays the saxophone now stops at about 10pm.) Nice welcome touches provided by owner. The accommodation is clean tidy well decorated basic good value. (Pots and pans etc. had been put away dirty/wet cloth in one, all needed cleaning before use. We also needed to replace the batteries in remote and smoke alarm.) Would love to own a small flat like this, felt like I should have brought my tools to do a bit of maintenance. Car parking works well other users are very fort full, The walking does us good, we come back up via the car park lift, helps a bit.A previous customer - 3rd March 2016
Clean and tidy property. Stunning view to wake up to everyday. The only problem we had was the person next door constantly parked in our space so which we thought was a bit rude.A previous customer - 24th February 2016
Just a short break. The view as described was spectacular! We had an enjoyable time here - once you get used to the narrow hilly streets. A car is essential. Everything required in the apartment was there Torquay in October was windy and wet in parts, but that didn't keep us in. We would certainly come here again.A previous customer - 8th November 2015
Bright and comfortable enough, spacious enough as a base for one or two people. However, it is not as well equipped as other flats of similar quality. The most obvious gap is a washing machine, so a trip to the launderette is required if your stay is long. The cooker is an irritating electric model and storage space is low. Certainly not dreadful overall, and the view over Tor Bay is great, but I would expect more for the money.A previous customer - 23rd July 2015
I think we arrived on the cleaners day off as there was salt or sugar on the worktop, what looked like cat hair on the cooking pans, the duvet and on the bed sheet as if a cat had been in the apartment. There was also cat hairs on the back of the curtain where it looked like a cat had been coming in through the window. The wire waste paper bin in the kitchen looked like someone had previously squashed it as it was deformed and broken and should have been replaced. The bathroom was very shabby and didn't look like it had been decorated for at least a decade, basically the apartment looked like it was being operated on a budget but if a few hundred pounds and a few days work was invested in it it could be transformed into a fantastic apartment that I would definitely return to but as it is at the moment we will not be returning. Agreed the booking cost is not high but we have stayed at similarly priced places that have been far better. To summarise, there were too many minor bad points that all stacked up against the accommodation but we still enjoyed our break just because we love the Torbay area. To finish on a more positive note, the view from the window was stunning and if the accommodation was presented slightly better would be very hard to fault.A previous customer - 8th July 2015
Had an amazing stay at The Lookout, and will definitely recommend it to anyone traveling in the Torbay area. I do not even know where to begin: from its perfect location to explore the area, to the free parking, to the fantastic view from the apartment that took my breath away every time I looked outside... It was everything I needed to make my stay in Torbay that much memorable and when it was time to leave, I was really sad to leave. Will definitely stay here again if and when in the area. 5/5!A previous customer - 29th May 2015
The Lookout was a perfect location for us to enjoy a weekend in Torbay. The property is a short drive from Torquay centre and has a superb view across the bay. It was clean, comfortable and ideal for a 3 person family.A previous customer - 26th February 2015
The lookout is ideal really for 2 people. The views from the lookout are brilliant. Going into Torquay it is either a walk down loads of steps or go the road. Ok if you are feeling energetic.when I again go to Torquay I would hope to use this place again.A previous customer - 4th February 2015
The Lookout is a studio flat with an amazing view over Torquay bay. It was very clean and comfortable and most things you could need were provided, together with some you wouldn't have expected, such as umbrellas, inflatable cushions and board games. It's situated high on a hill, so you have to be fairly fit if you want to walk back up from the harbour area but driving is easy and the dedicated parking space is close to the apartment. It's ideally suited for visiting most places in South Devon, e.g. Brixham, Dartmouth, Slapton, Salcombe and Dartmoor. We did hear the neighbouring saxophone player practising but it wasn't too noisy and we liked the music! It's a good place to stay and we thoroughly enjoyed our week there.A previous customer - 21st October 2014
nice place to stay, neat and tidy. Great sea view from window. very recommended. quiet location with space for a car. walking distance from the coast line 5-10 mins.A previous customer - 23rd August 2014

Just returned from our 6th stay at the Lookout and had a great time in Torquay. The views from the apartment are absolutely amazing. We will definately be back.A previous customer - 8th July 2014
I've stayed at The Lookout several times & each holiday has been very enjoyable. The views over the bay are fantastic & it's great to sit up in bed in the morning & see the sea! Studio was clean & comfortable, had everything I needed. Dedicated parking space is a bonus. Ideal location, easy walk down to the town & harbour, but uphill on the way back! The booking process was easy & I'll definitely be booking again. Highly recommended.A previous customer - 2nd July 2014
Studio had everything we needed and was comfortable and clean. Good location with fantastic views, only negative I would say is its a very noisy apartment block. We had a saxophone player practising from 7 till 11 every night, a child in an apartment above who ran around and played football inside. I did speak to South West Cottages and that night we only had to endure 3 hours of saxophone playing!!A previous customer - 10th June 2014
