Things to Do
Close to the beachfront, the famous Babbacombe Cliff Railway built in 1926, has shuttled hundreds of thousands of holidaymakers to and from Oddicombe Beach across 84 years of service.
Surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery to be found in the UK, the Cliff Railway provides a vital way for locals and holidaymakers to take in the amazing views as they travel to and from the water's edge and also enjoy a drink or a bite to eat at the Three Degrees West Café Bar & Bistro.
Torquay's busy harbour side and town centre are just a couple of miles away by car. Alternatively, you can walk there & back along the famous South West Coastal Path, with stunning scenery every step of the way.
There are 22 miles of coastline, cliffs, coves and beaches and walks to rival any in the South West of England, with a climate that belongs somewhere much further south. As usual a very nice stay. Clean, warm and friendly. Ideally some minor refurbishment is required, ie broken tiles in bathroom, windowsill needs repainting but did not detract from a lovely place to stay.Marlene Worf, Kent - 1st November 2016

If you want to enjoy a meal, the food is very good, lovely atmosphere, and the hosts Marion and Steve are great, nothing is to much trouble. Hope to return soon for a third stay at this lovely inn, kevin millett, wellington, somerset - 1st February 2016
I had such a relaxing and comfortable break in a room that was absolutely gorgeous and with hosts and staff that could not have been more welcoming, pleasant and helpful if they had tried, I genuinely did not want to go home. As for the food in the buccaneer it was excellent. I have already told friends and family about my break and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone, the weather may not have been the best, but it was November. However this did not detract from the absolute pleasure and relaxation, thank you so much to everyone for making me so welcome.Ali Mayoll from Nuneaton, Warks - 1st November 2015
Beautiful Views and excellent facilities. This is one of the best places we have stayed in UK. Everything is extremely clean and owners have made everything homely. I have never been anywhere that give you more than a few milks to use with drinks, and more than enough toiletries wise. No need to bring extras.. Hand soap, body lotion, shampoo and shower gel. Bed comfy. Lovely management who will do all they can for you. Took a bottle of bubbly to celebrate my birthday, was given an ice bucket. Opened looking out from a fab view of the bay. They also do lovely food. Not after 6.30pm Sunday's though. (Apparently they do a lovely Sunday roast). Have stayed in both rooms they have. I have no faults and I'm a fussy one. Will be back. Thank you Marion and Steve!Jenny, Cardiff - 1st October 2015
My husband, son and I , have just returned from the most delightful 4 days at The Buccaneer Inn, Babbacombe. Our rooms were lovely, very spacious and spotlessly clean, with the most fantastic sea views. Our hosts Marion and Steve and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had several meals in the dining room, and all were delicious. This was our second visit and it won't be long before we return.Wonderful!Harvey - 1st August 2015
Can't rate it highly enough. it was that good, lovely welcome, superb room with outstanding unspoiled views. Can't wait to go back.Darren Hewitt from Basingstoke, Hants. - 1st August 2015
We were very pleased with how we were treated when we arrived, Steve was very warm and welcoming. The room was really lovely, it looked exactly like the pictures and was very well decorated. The sun room part was lovely to sit and eat breakfast at in the mornings and the windows were completely sound proof at night, we couldn't believe we were above a busy pub! The en suite was much larger than we thought and very nice, brilliant shower! It was also really nice that little things like plates and cups, tea, coffee, biscuits, towels, shampoo and conditioner were provided, that was way beyond what we expected and was very much appreciated!! It was a very nice weekend and we felt very comfortable coming and going as much as we did. The view was way beyond expectation and was a lovely way to wake up eaxh morning. The only bad thing was that we didn't get to try the pub food as we were back after the kitchen closed each night. Would definitely recommend to anyone!Nicole Reid, UK - 1st June 2015

This accommodation is first class. Very comfortable bed, large walk in shower, lots of hanging and drawer storage. The sitting area overlooking Babbacombe downs, with sea views has wall to wall windows, which is a delightful place to sit. "Fantastic little getaway!" We found this room on the Internet after a random search and we are so glad we went for it! The room we stayed in was beautiful and had the most amazing view of the coast, the couple that own the pub were so lovely and welcoming, it made us feel right at home, they were also really knowledgeable about the local area and suggested lots of things we could do over the weekend. The pub itself is so friendly with great staff and we found ourselves having a drink in there every night. I really cannot recommend this place enough and cannot wait to go back!lheatherb - 1st July 2012
