The private enclosed garden boasts a large alfresco dining table, sun loungers, a family BBQ, lawn and selection of family beach games.

The property's quirky layout involves 2 separate entrances on two different levels; one via the street level front porch, and one on the upper level through the back garden gate.

There is also a kingsize or twin room, featuring a new super king zip and link bed, as well as a modern bathroom with a fitted power shower.

Reviews

Lovely cottage away from it all in a lovely village but with a decent pub nearby. Spacious open plan kitchen area makes good use of the space. The house was well equipped and clean. The garden space is located down a small path away from the property, something to consider if you have a baby and no baby monitor. All in all a great place for a family break.Richard - 5th June 2017
What a beautiful holiday home you have, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, beautiful fixtures & fittings, such a perfect location for walking on the beach & enjoying all the local pubs & cafés. I love the London Inn, Ode Café, Café Rush & The Clipper Café, managed to try them all! Will definitely come back!! Thank you.Liz & Friend's - 1st January 2017

Stayed a week in this gorgeous house, everywhere beautiful and clean! Had no faults about the place. Shaldon itself was a friendly and quiet place- BEST fish and chip shop! Welcoming pubs and a stunning harbour. Thank you for leaving the little bits and bobs around the house. Enjoyed every minute of our stay!Bogges and Gibson Family- UK - 1st July 2016
Excellent accommodation and had a fabulous stay. A real treat and also Shaldon a wonderful place with so many friendly people. We particularly liked the views of the hills from the cottage and lovely garden. “Had a really nice stay at Driftwood Cottage. The location was great being just a few minutes walk from the beach, shops, cafés and pub. The house was great with good upstairs space for the family. The house was lovely, clean and well appointed. The hosts even went and bought us a high chair for our 9 month old son which was very thoughtful. Parking was not a major problem for us. Would definitely stay here again."Emma, Willenhall - 1st March 2016
Had the best New Year at Driftwood Cottage! Really spacious (7 adults staying), really clean, well equipped, cosy, and the owners Rosie and Greg had left us a bottle of wine and some chocolate biscuits which went down very well! The cottage itself couldn't be in a better location- a couple of minutes to the centre of Shaldon and the beach, and Shaldon itself is the perfect Devon village, really quaint but loads of pubs and cafes and of course the beach. Also walking distance over to Teignmouth (not as lovely as Shaldon but bigger and has the pier and Crazy Golf and more restaurants & bars). They had also given us some great recommendations. Everything was wonderful and would definitely come back, although only thing to note is that parking can be a little tricky as only one covered free space, although they do very helpfully list alternatives. Can't fault the cottage or Shaldon!Emily from Reading - 1st December 2015
A wonderful house set in the most amazing environment, we had a perfect weekend! Our thanks to the establishment owners xEmily & Lloyd - 1st October 2015
Here for a walking holiday. 60 minutes in 6 days, not bad eh! Combined age of 384! Very impressed with accommodation and lovely village. Excellent meets at Clipper and The London Inn where we came fourth in the quiz. Special recommendation for Courtenays Cove Cafe in Babbacombe.Linda and friends - 1st September 2015
We stayed for four nights and we really enjoyed the place, the area was nice and the house breathtaking. The owner was so kind with us and extended our checkout to the afternoon. The house was very clean and tidy.Waleed Aljaberi from United Arab Emirates - 1st September 2015
Our second visit to this beautiful, cosy and well equipped house. Thank you so much for the welcome wine and biscuits (& milk too, we love a nice cup of tea!) We have all really enjoyed a sunny Ness beach, pasties, ice cream, browsing the little shops and just relaxing in the pretty garden. Thank you so much, we will definitely return for more!Lizzie, Peter and family. - 1st September 2015

Just spent a lovely week away in Devon. We have family living in Teignmouth so visited often but never stayed in Shaldon. The house inside was beautiful, appreciated milk, tea bags etc being avaiable when we arrived. Only downside is parking if you have more than one car but there is a car park nearby. Thank you xThe Bates Family - 17th July 2015

We had a wonderful time here. The sunshone on us and we sampled all the delights of this dreaming village. We spend a half day on Ness Beach and enjoyed the organic food in the ODIE cafe.We spend a whole day at NT House 'Bradley` outside Newton Abbot and ended up in Teignmouth for crab.Colin and Karin - 1st June 2015
Six ladies from Marlow are here for a week, and the walking we've done has fair made us creek, Try Dawlish to Teignmouth, a challenge indeed, It's good for the soul but do take a pole!! but joking aside we are all of one mine, that Drift-wood provided the best you could find.Lillian and family, Marlow - 1st June 2015

Another lovely few days with visits to the beach, even swimming for the youngest! Enjoying the sun on the deck- in April! Combeinteignhead is a pretty village and miles up the estuary with pub, church and art gallery (open intermittently!) Coombe Cellars is a pub and restaurant right on the river bank with fabulous views.A previous customer - 1st April 2015
Thank you so much! Incredible stay: walking on the red cliffs; thinking that the foliage on the cliffs was reainforest-like and subsequently realising there were real monkeys there!!! Seeing my first pub-with-a-carpet. Incredible comfort of kitchen and beds also agreeable. Would heavily recommend the zoo to all those also like monkeys.Emily and Mark - 1st February 2015

Arrival in Shaldon after hours motorway driving and parking. Too many people wanted to join us. Entered the place of Driftwood and commenced a week of fun and for us adventure. Saturday exploring Shaldon, quaint and picturesque with fhatched roofs and very friendly people, loved all the terraced houses with pretty gardens- then Blues night at the Shipwight Arms- great fun.Laura and Brenda - 1st September 2014

After a week in Normandy discovering D-day we went here for a couple of days relaxing.Walking to the sea in the morning, again in the evening.Sunday roast, walking along the pier in Teignmouth, having British friends over, Bath etc...Nice cosy house, loved the interior, really felt at home- and the kids loved the WiFi.ThanksSabra family from Denmark - 1st July 2014
We were here celebrating my father's 80th Birthday. We were very lucky to have good weather throughout and visited a lot of the area including the Dartmouth Steam Railway, where my father rode on the footplate! We enjoyed staying in your house very much, especially the light airy feel, and the comfort of the beds.Thank You.Burleigh Family - 1st March 2014
We fancied a relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle of family life. Shaldon has been the perfect place and Driftwood has fitted the bill perfectly. The sun shone most of the time. So we were able to explore Shaldon, Teignmouth and Dawlish. We had a great walk along to Ness beach via the tunnel and lunch at The Clipper (delicious and v. reasonable). A real "find" was jack sprats in Dawlish. Huge men for light bites and full on lunch. Also, "26" in Teignmouth for coffee/cakes/lunch.We will be back!Pennie, Brenda and Suzi - 1st February 2014
