Soak up true Devon village life in this fabulous couples' countryside cottage!
Ideally suited for a weekend break or a few nights peace with your special someone, Churscombe Cottage is a delightful one bedroom holiday cottage in a typical Devon village, and yet within easy reach of all the delights on offer in the English Riviera. This characterful two-storey cottage has been lovingly brought into the 21st century by its owner, whilst still retaining the charm that you would come to expect of a quintessential Devon cottage.
With the famous Occombe Farm less than five minutes away, as well as around 25 countryside footpaths and walks to explore, Marldon offers a tempting slice of true countryside bliss. With Paignton, Torquay and Totnes all within 15 minutes drive, Churscombe Cottage and the village of Marldon are the perfect places to enjoy a central base in which to explore South Devon. If you're not looking to watch the water run by, then long strolls and romantic sunsets await at Dartmoor National Park, within a picturesque 30 minutes drive of the cottage.
Less than one hundred paces from the cottage itself lies a classic country pub, great for an evening drink getting to know the locals, or for a bite to eat in the evening after a long walk. A petrol station and locally-run also sit just across the road, to grab those essential bits and pieces for preparing tasty meals in the cottage, and topping up before your Devon adventure.
A two-storey cottage in the heart of Marldon Village, Churscombe Cottage is the ideal break for a romantic weekend getaway, cosied up in front of the log burning fire in the living room, or the classic cosy bedroom so typical of country cottages of this age. Welcoming well-behaved pets also, Churscombe makes itself perfect for country living. From the warmth of the living room with large Smart TV, the exposed beams follow you through to the dining area with seating for four, and through to the modern and well-equipped kitchen.
Following the flight of LED-lit steps, the cottage continues to a modern and spacious bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower cubicle. Ducking down through low-set doorways leads to the very comfortable bedroom, where you're sure to enjoy a comfortable night of peaceful rest.
Outside lies a very pleasant enclosed courtyard, perfect for letting your four-legged companion enjoy some well deserved rest in the sun, as well as for alfresco dining or a morning coffee.

Despite a mixed bag of weather, we've had a very enjoyable week. The charming cottage, with all the little extras, made us feel very much at home. The DVDs were a godsend on rainy days! On brighter days we enjoyed day trips to Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth, Brixham, Torquay and Babbacombe. In the evenings we ate at "Ye Olde Smokey" and "The Church House Inn". Thanks for the welcoming gifts - Harvey particularly enjoyed the bone and treats! Many thanks.Tony and Tracey H (and Harvey the dog!) - East Sussex - 9th September 2017
We have enjoyed our vacation in your cottage very much. It is fitted with everything you need and exceptional eye to detail. We also enjoyed breakfasts in the courtyard in the morning sun. We can recommend the steam railway to Dartmouth, and the train from Totnes towards Buckfastleigh where we visited the Abbey. The flair of Torquay on weekend evenings is also very inspiring. It was an awesome holiday - thanks a lot!Matthias K - Germany - 4th August 2017
We have enjoyed the vacation in your cottage very much. It is equipped with whatever you need and is fitted with a beautiful view to the detail. We enjoyed also the breakfasts in the garden with the sunshine. We can recommend the Dartmouth Steam and Rail Tour very much, as well as the train ride from Totnes to Buckfastleigh. You need to see the Abbey! It was an awesome holiday. Thanks a lot!A Happy Customer - 1st August 2017
Great Cottage - everything we needed, and thank you very much for the goodies you left for us! We parked in the Old Smokey as we'd eaten there a few times during our stay. All in all a lovely week away - we would recommend the Round Robin trip to Dartmouth with the market on a Friday. Brixham also worth a visit. Thank you!Rosie and Chris - Oxfordshire - 22nd July 2017
A good centre, close to pub/restaurant, shop and filling station, with a bus stop at the door. Cottage was very clean, well-stocked, comfortable bed and a welcome pack which was much appreciated. Lots to see and do, from the seaside to Dartmoor, cruising, trains and lots of National Trust and English Heritage properties.Mr Naylor - Harrogate - 22nd May 2017
We have had such a lovely week in your beautiful cottage ~ so comfortable & cosy. After having a good sniff around to inspect her new home Star discovered the toy box and proceeded to run around with each toy in turn! We have made the most of the surprisingly good weather and your good supply of walking books and maps to explore the South Devon countryside. Star particularly enjoyed making friends on Goodrington Sands. Thank you so much.James, Roy & Star, Hastings - 1st February 2017
