Looking for a rural bijou bolthole?
Nestled in the heart of the idyllic countryside, Galmpton Stable offers the perfect romantic bolt-hole for couples looking to enjoy the rural delights and timeless coastal fun of beautiful Devon.
The refurbished property still retains many of its original features, for a twee ambience to reflect the charm of its farmyard setting, which is steeped in history, being home to a farm on the site since the Middle Ages and forming one of the 7 original village buildings of Galmpton.
Inside guests can find a sunny and inviting holiday haven to call their own, with a cosy open plan living & kitchen area encased by a pretty beamed ceiling, to offer guests a restful and intimate setting in which to relax and enjoy.
The snug sitting area and flat screen TV/DVD offers home-from-home comfort for when the weather turns and the fitted kitchenette to the side provides the freedom to enjoy simple home-cooked meals during your stay.
Directly outside the sunny private terrace paints a picturesque setting for enjoying.
The charming holiday home further offers a delightfully furnished master bedroom with double bed and a modern fitted shower room.
For guests looking to stay close to family and friends during their stay, it is possible to rent 'Galmpton Stable' alongside the equally charming 'Agatha's Galmpton Cottage', which sleeps up to 4 and forms an annexe to the principal privately owner farmhouse, which is also situated here in the courtyard.
From the idyllic and tranquil country lane, guests are within an easy stroll from the village's organic butchers, local convenience shop and the highly recommended 'Manor Inn Pub'. The famous 'Greenway House & Gardens' attraction is also within enviable reach of the holiday home and the picturesque beauty spot is surrounded by a scenic web of moorland, woodland, rural and coastal walks to enjoy.
With the revitalizing sea air bound to bring about a healthy appetite, guests are perfectly placed for enjoying the delicious and unpretentious gastronomy of South Devon; from freshly caught Oysters in Bigbury to the highly praised cuisine of 'The Churston Court Inn' and the wholesome family-friendly vigour of 'Alf Resco' in Dartmouth, to name just a few!
Keen golfers can enjoy teeing off at the Shaldon Approach and Churston Golf Clubs whilst culture vultures can enjoy exploring the nearby National Trust attractions, Berry Pomeroy Castle, Coleton Fishacre, Greenway and the delightful seaside towns of Brixham, Paignton, Totnes and Dartmouth.
The vibrant seaside resort of Torquay is also within easy reach by car just 16 minutes away, providing guests with a host of modern day distractions, lively forms of evening entertainment and timeless visitor attractions to enjoy.
The famed Red Robin experience and Dartmouth boat trips provide a perfectly sedate way to sight see in the area and the spectacular natural wonders of Kents Cavern and the miles of stunning beaches and secluded coves offer all manner of outdoor activities to enjoy, from canoeing, sailing, surfing and swimming to walking, fishing, lazy beach days and more.

Lovely, cosy, clean little house. Nicely decorated and everything in there that you need for two people.Mandy Butcher, Aylesbury - 1st October 2016
Had a great time. Loads of exploring. Weather fine. Spent three days on the beach! The Stable was warm and cosy with everything we have needed. Blackpool Sands was very pretty and we went over on the car ferry which made this easier. Friendly butchers in the village plus a pleasant shop and post office. The 10 days hasn't been long enough for us and feel very sad to go home. Would love to come back again and do the things that we haven't had time to do!!! Thanks Jeremy and Tracey for everything.Barry and Jackie, Feltham - 1st September 2016

It was well worth it to travel from the Netherlands to your stable! We've had a great time exploring this part of the UK.Wim and Adriana, The Netherlands - 1st July 2016
Fantastic stay and beautiful weather! Seconfd visit to the lovely Stable. Ideal base to explore beautiful Devon. Reccommend visits to Meadfoot Bay near Torquay with lunch on the terrace at The Osborne, a lovely meal at The Lusty Wench in Brixham. Book and ask for a window seat! Nice walks from Broadsands Beach to Elbery Cove and coastal walk from Meadfoot to Torquay. There are great transport links too with reasonable fairs and late buses. Thank you for a lovely stay - very cosy and comfortable with everything you need! The Dallas Family, UK - 1st July 2016

Lovely stay in a lovely little place! Great location and very cosy!Brett and Danielle, UK - 1st October 2015
Sue was very efficient and e mailed all the details for traveling to the Stables and arrival information as soon as I booked; also with a local contact no. should we have any queries . The Stable was perfectly simple and comfortable and clean with lots of hot water and a lovely sunny yard at the back . Cooking facilities were simple but adequate; but with so many lovely affordable places to eat locally we were spoilt for choice. Love Galmpton and that area with beautiful countryside and walks and boat and train trips to take as well as the sea- you can just leave the car at the Stables and relax. We will be back!Cleo Mussi, UK - 1st August 2015
We had a lovely few days in Galmpton Stable. It's a small, but pleasant conversion with everything we needed. It is also close to the town for shops and a decent pub.Gary Moore, UK - 1st August 2015
Easter stay at Galmpton Stable.- the people were fantastic; welcoming, informative and always on hand to help - the neighbors were friendly and even invited us in to give us ideas of places to walk - the house was homely and had everything we needed; the garden was a suntrap - it was ideally located, right near to a lovely pub and the beach and bays just a short drive away! - I think our stay here helped me and my girlfriend fall in love a little more; it was perfectJohn, London - 1st June 2015

We had a great weekend staying at Galmpton Stable. The apartment itself was immaculate and felt very cosy. The location was wonderful for easy access to many local beaches and beautiful countryside. The owners were also extremely helpful in advising places to see. Our visit to nearby Dittisham was thanks to your great suggestion. Thank you!Ben, London - 1st June 2014
We really enjoyed our Easter break in this apartment. The place was very cosy, clean and equipped with all you need; in a quiet part of the village. The owner is very friendly, living next door so you can easily reach them when needed. We would highly recommend this place to our friends and would like to come back to explore more it's surroundings and attractions.Ondrej Kosik, UK - 1st April 2014
