Maceley Cove is perfect for enjoying coastal picnics and family beach days during the summer months. The sailing town of Salcombe is just over the pretty estuary with Dartmouth and Kingsbridge very close by; all of which provide a wide range of activities and attractions; from water sports, horse riding and golf, to the National Trust properties such as Agatha Christie's home and Coleton Fishacre with its garden by the sea. Don't miss the popular Steam Railway journey between Paignton & Kingswear or the numerous River Dart cruises in the bay.

A very comfortable and well appointed cottage with a lovely little garden and a great view of the sea beyond.A perfect place to relax, go for walks (along the coastal footpath which passes the end of the garden) and visit gems of beaches nearby. It's very quiet and all you hear at night is the sound of the sea.Julian Korn, Buckinghamshire - 1st June 2016
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location with breathtaking views. A bit more isolated than expected - miles of narrow, twisty lanes to get anywhere. Nice cosy getaway, lots of room for all the family. Pam Stanway, Guildford - 1st November 2014
We (my husband and I, daughter and husband, 2 teenage grandchildren) thought the cottage was brilliant. We self-cater once a year with the family usually The Lakes or Pembrokeshire. We hadn't visited the South Hams since the Gara Rock Hotel and Maelcombe House closed. Unfortunately I was ill with a heart problem before the holiday and it occurred again whilst away. However, I coud look at the wonderful view except when there was a sea fret. Our only slight moan was having to bring towels for 6 people - they take up so much space in the vehicle when there is food as well to bring.Coastguard Cottage is obviously a well looked after and much loved family home and we appreciated being allowed to stay there. We hope to return when perhaps I will be able to walk some of the coastal path.Mary Youlton, Guildford - 1st November 2014
5*stars! Lovely cottage with stunning views. Sarah,Cheltenham - 1st April 2014
Such beautiful views from the cottage! Lots of lovely walks to do from the door and some amazing places to explore. The cottage was fully equipped and was so peaceful. We would recommend coastguard cottage. There were six of us and the cottage accommodated us perfectly. Be warned a car is essential! Annie & family from Cambridgeshire - 1st August 2013
Absolutely fabulous!! loved every minute of the week and we were sad to leave. The Atkins Family, Northampton - 1st July 2013
Have had a wonderful week, very lucky indeed with glorious sunshine. Loved the Piglet Stores ~ just who buys Pith helmets in East Prawle?!!Martin & Angie - 1st September 2012
Probably one of the only good weeks weather this summer so feel very lucky. Fabulous walking and delightful to have completed the Prawle Point to Start Point Lighthouse section of the coastal walk. The holiday was an early celebration at a 60th birthday with my family, so will always be remembered. Loved the house.Teresa, Linda, Alan, Philippa & Brian, St. Albans - 1st September 2012
We had a lovely stay despite the rain! We had burnt pasties, fights with seaweed and had many fun times playing sardines (may I suggest the secret door in the attic) It's a truly wonderful place ~ especially if you get up at around 3am in the morning and look at the view). We would just advise not walking in bare feet on the fields outside ~ they can be a touch slippy!!Laura, Charlotte, Chris, Kathy, Finn, Sam & Berj x - 1st August 2012
Great week with my Mum, mixed bag with the weather but had one hot sunny day so went swimming in Lannacombe Bay. Sooooo relaxing, don't want to go home. Helen & Judy, Middlesex - 1st July 2012
Coming from central Europe, staying so close to the sea is magic! The views are fantastic, the house is very friendly and the library is good. We enjoyed all that in all kinds of weather! Eva & Erich, Germany - 1st July 2012
Good time had by all. Really enjoyed our stay. We had great weather :) Thank you!Millie, Emma, Steph, Andy, Ethan, Norma, Yvonne & Perrer, the dog xxxx - 1st July 2012
Started & finished on a sunny note, had some rain & fog issues mid week but that is England! Loved the house and the location & views especially. Peace & love & that. David, the Gardeners & Pete - 1st July 2012
We have enjoyed our stay at Prawle Point. We have explored a little corner of Devon. The Higher & Lower ferries at Dartmouth are worth going on. The mist forced us inland on a couple of days so we ventured into Dartmoor and had a great time at Greenway (Agatha Christies Holiday Home!) and also Overbecks. The coastal path was ventured on by the more intrepid of our party! We have enjoyed the view and were able to sit on the patio one morning. A sports fest was experienced with Euro 2012 & Wimbledon. A wonderful time of rest & relaxation.Evelyn, Colin, Yvonne, Martyn, Jean & Clive, Essex - 1st June 2012
