The Old Chantry (a smaller configuration of The Old Chapel) is a historic property on the edge of the charming village of Chudleigh, providing an excellent base for exploring the delights of South Devon throughout the year! This family friendly house comfortably accommodates up to 16 guests throughout the year (see property ref TOCCHU) but is also offered for up to 9 guests outside the school holiday periods at significantly lower rates - this is The Old Chantry.
The piece de resistance of the property has to be the large (12M) private indoor heated pool, which together with the sauna room and games room are sure to keep the whole family entertained come rain or shine. If you prefer something less energetic, watch TV in one of the two large lounges. Outside, there is a private lawned garden, as well as a patio area perfect for a summer BBQ with plenty of seating for the whole family. There is also plenty of space for private parking at the front of the house, and a footbridge next to the front door over a stream to the neighbouring cricket ground and country walks, perfect if you have brought your four-legged friend.
The Old Chantry features three family bedrooms...
- Master suite featuring 1 x 6' Super Kingsize bed with a Tempur memory foam mattress (2 guests) with en-suite jacuzzi bath & separate shower & 2 vanity basins.
- Second bedroom with 1 x 6' Super Kingsize bed & 1 x 3' single bed (3 guests) with adjacent bathroom.
- Third 'family room' with 1 x 6' Super Kingsize bed 2 x 3' single beds (4 guests) with en-suite bathroom with bath and two showers in a wet room area.
Upstairs, a spacious family living room with comfortable sofas and a 55” TV with the full free Netflix and Sky Q TV Package including sports and movies. Next to the lounge is a large games room with a pool table, table football and dartboard and a selection of family-friendly board games offering the chance for kids of all ages to let off steam. Downstairs there is a second comfortable lounge also with the full free Netflix and Sky Q TV Package, which has sliding doors leading to the garden.
A spacious farmhouse-style breakfast kitchen features a central island with induction hob, and storage for all the crockery and utensils you could need. A separate built in Neff oven and hob and a Rayburn solid fuel stove, american style fridge freezer with water dispenser and ice maker, and full size dishwasher also feature, together with plenty of space for preparing delicious meals for the whole family. The large vaulted dining room is next to the kitchen, and a sound system provides excellent quality music for both these rooms.
There is a fully equipped utility room with a second dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier next to the kitchen.
The Local Area
Enjoy long relaxing walks through the Devon countryside, with Dartmoor National Park within just a short drive - perfect for taking your dogs out for a day to stretch their legs. If you're not looking for an active break then why not take a trip to the cathedral city of Exeter, with its Princesshay and Guildhall shopping centres, or have a day relaxing on one of the surrounding beaches at Shaldon or Torbay.

This property is a modified listing of the larger 'The Old Chapel Chudleigh (property ref TOCCHU) which can comfortably accommodate upto 16 guests. Due to the significantly lower rates offered for this reduced occupancy, it is offered outside of school holiday periods to allow groups of family and friends to enjoy the excellent facilities at a more accessible rate; however should additional rooms be used then charges may be deducted from your refundable security deposit.
This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £350, which is payable to Discovery Holiday Homes with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.
