4 Zoar cottages is a delightful period cottage situated on Dartmoor National Park. Nestled right on the moor nearby to the historic town of Mary Tavy, once the largest copper mine in the world. Tavistock, just a 15 minute drive from the cottage, is one of the five Stannary towns of Dartmoor and offers plenty of amenities including cafes, shops, several pubs and many restaurants. Beyond Dartmoor, day trips to beaches in Cornwall and Devon offer a great alternative for a fun day-out. Horse Riding is also available at a highly regarded nearby Cholwell Farm with riding stables which is either a ten minute drive away or a twenty minute direct off-road walk across the beautiful moor. The Elephants Nest pub in nearby Horndon, also walkable or a five minute drive, has roaring winter log fires, a lovely garden for al-fresco Summer dining and a reputation for some of the best food on Dartmoor. Guests staying at 4 Zoar Cottages can embark on numerous walks over the many tors and stunning rivers that flow through the moorland. The property itself is in keeping with the period charm of the time, most of the original features are still prominent today. Downstairs is set up open plan with a well equipped kitchen with traditional slate floors, worktops, antique dresser and Esse wood burning cooking stove. Coupled with the kitchen is the cosy dining and living area where you can unwind with a glass of wine after a long day exploring the countless walking routes or nearby town of Tavistock. There are 3 spacious bedrooms, each sleeping 2 people. The living area features a TV and bluetooth speaker and DVD player, for those cozy days if the weather closes in. 4 Zoar cottages, a true hidden gem, is the perfect escape for families or walkers wanting to explore the magnificent scenery and observe the array of wildlife grazing on the stunning moorland.

Loved our stay here at Zoar Cottage. So wonderful to be able to walk onto the moor straight from the gate. Not enough days to explore as much as we would have liked but we hope to return! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful cosy hideaway with us.Jane Oliver - 14th October 2019
Great location up on the moor. Really well equipped cottage with a comfortable lounge, dining, kitchen area. Fantastic access direct from the cottage gate for moorland walks & sunny front garden for enjoying the autumnal sunshine. Only one bathroom but that was fine for our visit. Useful local shop at Mary Tavy open 7 days a week.Jane Oliver - 14th October 2019
What an amazing place! We are grateful for a fantastic stay and a much needed break in such a lovely homely cottage and magical environment. Thank you for having us! Thank you also for the honey and fudgeMrs Karen Pracy - 18th September 2019
Second stay in this lovely cosy cottage, hope to make it three one day. Mixed weather, great walks – Tavy Cleave is a must, as is West Okement Valley. Made it to “Cranmere Pool” to sign book in letterbox – superb holiday – thank you (and thank you for the fudge, honey, milk and butter)Mr Paul Murray - 14th September 2019
Fantastic week on Dartmoor. We walked, we rode ponies, we explored and we went to the seaside. Just perfect!Sophie and Matt and family – London - 26th July 2019
Lovely cottage, peaceful, relaxing place to chill out, enjoying breakfast etc outside amongst the tranquil surroundings. Gives the impression of being isolated whilst in easy reach of both towns and cities and the north and south coasts.Bridget and John - Birmingham - 19th July 2019
Lovely cottage, very comfortable with everything we could possibly need. Ms Lucy Fitzgeorge-Parker - 12th July 2019
