Make Memories in Devon This Spring
Now that the Spring Equinox is fast approaching, and with Easter just around the corner, the crowds will be flocking to the sunny shores of Devon to enjoy their holidays again. Here are a few of our top tips for making the most of your Spring break in Devon in 2018!
Take a Hike
The buds are forming and the flowers are starting to 'spring' into life! Rural Devon is the perfect place to strap on those walking boots, grab your camera and embrace your inner nature photographer! Some of the most beautiful countryside walks can be found in and around South Devon, as well as across the rugged Dartmoor landscape, and Spring breaks mean that you can beat those summer crowds and enjoy the peace and tranquility that the Devon countryside is so famous for.
Rainbows of colours from every palette fill the land in the springtime, and nowhere is that more true than Devon. With its mix of the very best of rural and urban lifestyles, painters and craftsmen flock to Devon each year to recreate the beautiful contrasts, colours and contours of our landscape onto canvas and print. And if you're not quite the next picasso, why not create a mood board or collage using the colours and natural craft materials that can be found all around. From freshly cut grass clippings to leaves and flower buds, Devon's landscape is guaranteed to get your creative juices flowing.
Enjoy Fine Food and Drink
Now that the cold depths of the winter have passed (including our final blast of winter snow), business iss resuming its normal pace, and that includes our fabulous selection of restaurants and tea shops. Why not come down and decide for yourself on the age old debate of which way round a cream tea goes (it's clearly cream first!), or enjoy the sunshine with a sandwich or fish and chips on the quayside from one of the great selection of takeaways and restaurants! Fancy a bit of DIY foodie fun? Pack up a picnic hamper and take to Plymouth Hoe, Torre Abbey Meadows, Cockington, Shaldon Green or one of the many other South Devon picnic hotspots to relax in the sun!
